8 Great Resources
for Greening Your Home
Having been a LEED Building Design and Construction (BD+C) Accredited Professional since 2006, Elizabeth Gruben has a BS in Interior Design and studied for two years at The Academy of Art University's Interior Architecture graduate program. She retired from Sustainable Design Consulting, LLC as a Project Consultant in 2008, trading large commercial and government projects for individual residential support.
She now teaches college courses and advises local homeowners in green building and living on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia's Northern Neck. She is a board member at large of the Northern Neck Native Plant Society, and has been an active volunteer with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation's Bay Restoration Program. She is also a State Certified Master Naturalist through the Northern Neck Chapter.
After working on the Mission To Planet Earth (MTPE) Program at NASA in the 90's and seeing first-hand the increase in the ozone hole and the impact of pollution on climate change, the environment of this planet has been Ms Gruben's major concern.
In recent times as a green building consultant and in designing her own sustainable home, Elizabeth has gained knowledge that can be useful to you on your next building or remodeling project. You may also wish to benefit from her ongoing research and study in the evolving field of local green building materials and advanced techniques.
Climate change and improvement of the environment are issues where we can each make individual contributions that will truly make a difference.
Working with Elizabeth and her team of local professionals, you can create a high-performance home in the most effective and efficient manner.
The emphasis of Green Neck Consulting is to preserve the natural resources in the Northern Neck of Virginia through environmentally responsible practices. We can work together to see major positive results by creating a healthier home and a better world.
